Welcome to La Belle Vilaine, the ideal place to enjoy an unforgettable stay in the heart of Southern Brittany with your dog(s).
Here, you can enjoy the absolute peace of the countryside, with kilometres of walking trails accessible directly on foot from your cottage.
La Belle Vilaine is located on the GR 349 long-distance trail (Stage 06) and on the waymarked path connecting the Folleux and Buttes en Marais routes in Saint-Dolay.
The towpaths running along the river are easily accessible from the gîtes and are perfect for walking, hiking, canicross, bikejoring (canivelo) and other outdoor activities. You can follow these paths all the way to Redon, passing through Le Pont de Cran.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside
Your fully equipped holiday cottage is nestled in a peaceful hamlet, surrounded by lush green landscapes and remarkable wildlife. In spring and summer, swallowtail butterflies, black kites, golden orioles and white storks bring the gardens, nearby woods and the banks of the Vilaine to life. Red squirrels, pine martens and the impressive black woodpeckerare also among the area’s regular inhabitants.
Just a few minutes’ walk away, the Vilaine River invites you to enjoy peaceful strolls or a fishing session (permits available locally). We provide maps to help you explore the paths, woodland trails, country tracks and riverbanks.
We also offer group walks with our female dogs.
Group walkies
We offer our guests the opportunity to join group walks accompanied by our female dogs, Cass, Izzy, Joy and Koko.
These walks are offered free of charge, on an informal and spontaneous basis, depending on your wishes and those of your dogs.
They do not constitute a service included in the booking, nor do they represent any contractual commitment. Their organisation depends entirely on our wishes, our availability, and that of our dogs

A breathtaking view over the Vilaine River, nestled in the heart of the woodland…
Easily accessible on foot from the gîtes, this viewpoint is one of our favourite walks. The path winds through nature and leads to a spectacular panorama overlooking the river.
Our guests often stop here to capture the moment with a beautiful souvenir photo — a perfect moment to share… and truly enjoy. Treats are highly recommended 🤣

Fishing
The Vilaine River, with its beautiful landscapes, is just a few minutes’ walk away.
Local residents fish there using their traditional “grue” boats.
You can also fish from the riverbank with a fishing permit (available from local tobacco shops).
Why not plan a day of fishing with a picnic and enjoy these special moments with your loved ones — both two- and four-legged! 🐾🎣
