Bienvenue à La Belle Vilaine
Self-catering, holiday cottages on the South Brittany/Loire Atlantique border in France.
Pet friendly, family-run gite accommodation - dogs welcome.
Residential Dog-training Courses now running - optional extra, fees apply.
We now also offer Residential Dog Training Courses with Elaine - a fully-registered Professional Dog Trainer
Certificat de Capacité No. 56-313 awarded by the Prefet du Morbihan - obedience, clicker training,
heelwork to music and agility.
Flyball equipment is the latest doggy development at La Belle Vilaine.
Made by Paul to regulation size.
This Flyball fun-run is available for all our visiting dogs to enjoy as and when they wish (after a short introductory session with Elaine - FOC).
It is placed in the securely-fenced and gated communal area to the front of the gites. A stop-watch is also available should you wish to time your dogs. For the time to beat, see the video below! :-)) This new attraction is proving to be a great hit!
Also now available in this area is a bespoke doggy paddling pool (which we put out in hot weather). A range of beginners' agility equipment is also available as part of the Residential Dog Training Package. The full agility training course is also on-site and guests who sign up for the residential training option and choose agility train with Elaine on this and then practice at their own leisure.

Flyball area next to the entrance |
As promised, new flyball video including paint!
Since this was filmed, Haïyla has been learning to wait her turn quietly! |
|
|
As usual Gracie first. Here she has jumped the 4 hurdles and is collecting the ball ready for a fast return back over them.
The flyball-holder is a training model - the
dogs simply pick up the ball rather than flipping
in the air to catch it.
|
Here is Haiyla going at full speed, eyes fixed on the ball!
You will notice that the last part of the 'height' of jumps is cut from corrugated cardboard. This is so that should a dog 'hit' the jump, the cardboard will give saving any possible injuries.
Yes that is ' flyball constructer ' Paul nervously looking on as the equipment is put through its paces!

Here we have Koko literally flying along! We think flyball may well be a hit! |
Not to outdone, Koko's mate Ollie shows that he can do it too. |
|
 |
A great shot of Ollie just prior to collecting his prize! |
This is my favourite shot of all.
Koko's concentration on that tennis ball
says it all !
