This area of south Brittany, on the border of the popular Loire Atlantique is surrounded by long sandy beaches - some sheltered in pretty coves, whilst others are a mecca for wind-surfers and body boarders.

This long, sandy beach is flanked by the beautiful, golden cliffs which gave it its name "The Gold Mine". There are 2 large, free car parks and toilets. There are restaurants within walking distance. There is also a clearly-signed cliff-top walk, offering stunning of the coast.
This is also a popular spot for hang-gliding.

LA BAULE, Loire Atlantique, France
approx. 45 minutes drive from your cottage

This world-famous, french, beach resort boasts 9 km of beaches. The town itself offers a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants.

For the sporting types nearby Le Pouligen offers 9 km of purpose-built roller-skating pathways along the coast. In all, this area of the Loire Atlantique offers 17 different way-marked routes (from 7 to 20 km) for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders.

Popular with local families, this large lake, set in woodland offers a small beach and swimming in the lake. Swimming is allowed during July and August, when there is a lifeguard on duty.
